LICENSED FLIGHT DISPATCHER

Training objective

The student is trained to assist flight deck crews by :
• collecting and analyzing meteorological information
• collecting and analyzing aeronautical information
• flight preparation including fuel, load and route planning
• loading supervision
• flight watch

Admission Conditions

• Scientific A level
• Pass an academic test (French/English/Maths/Physics)

Program

• Officially approved by Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority

Course duration

• 467 hours
• 5 months

Training curriculum

• Training is given in French and English based on ICAO requirements
• Seminars
• Visits to different airport services, to airfield infrastructures and airlines line stations
• Simulated flight training exercises

Training graduation

• Flight Dispatcher Final examination organized by the training center
• Official CCAA examination for the delivery of the flight dispatcher license, as recommended by ICAO
• Certificate for CRM, Aviation security and Dangerous Goods Transportation delivered by the training center

1What is the minimum age to become a dispatcher?
You must be at least 21 at the time your Dispatcher license is issued
2What is the minimum education level required to do the training?
A level, but science major is recommended
3What is the meaning of CCAA?
CCAA stands for Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority, the governing body that oversees safety and security in air transport according to international standards
4Will I be able to work anywhere with my CCAA issued dispatcher license?
CCAA issued license is ICAO compliant, ICAO being the United Nation entity that governs the international civil air transport. Each country has its own employment rules
5What is the duration of the course?
The course duration is 24 months
6After graduating from the school, do you provide a job?
No, it is your responsibility to find a job
7Do you provide or help secure a scholarship?
No, you must also provide your source of payment at time of registration
8Do you provide accommodation?
No, the school can help in finding one
9Do you offer any installments payments for the tuition?
A tuition payment plan is available at the time of registration
10What is the difference between a licensed flight dispatcher and a dispatcher?
The holder of a license is authorized to sign as the responsible for the technical preparation of the flight for the Captain. An unlicensed dispatcher works under the supervision of a licensed dispatcher for specific tasks.
